FEEDING ONE MILLION MOUTHS

According to Stats SA, in 2015 there were 19.7 million children younger than the age of 18, from that population,  62.1% of those children were multidimensionally poor and in risk of food instability.

Soon after the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stats SA recorded that the registered numbers of respondents experiencing hunger increased from 4.3 to 11.4%. These adult statistics of hunger and unemployment in combination with child hunger statistics, exponentially grow the rate of South Africans who experience food insecurity.

The Mandulo Pantry continues to work towards changing the narrative of food security throughout the country by continuing on the journey of feeding one million mouths.
